2A Noble St, Anglesea 3230

Anglesea is on the Great Ocean Road coastal drive in Victoria. It’s an easy 1:15 hour drive from the city of Melbourne on the freeway.

From Melbourne take the M1 freeway to Geelong, then follow the freeway signs to The Great Ocean Road via Anglesea (not Torquay). In Anglesea you drive:

  • straight through the roundabout outside the main shopping strip
  • a few hundred meters further, over the Anglesea River bridge
  • after the bridge, immediately take the first right into Noble St

The house is the middle of the 3 houses immediately on the left in Noble St, just past the corner shops.

Local Activities

Anglesea is a pretty seaside town on the Victorian surf coast, nestled between the bush and sea on the Great Ocean Road. From the house you can enjoy the river views from the balcony; watch a movie downstairs or upstairs; or take a short stroll into town with cafés, restaurants, and shopping.

Around Anglesea you can stroll by the river, go fishing or hire a paddle boat on the river just around the corner from the house. Check out the Anglesea Riverbank Market (Sundays ~6 times a year), walk or ride through the network of pathways around Coogoorah Park or watch the kids enjoy the fabulous adventure playground. There’s easy access to a network of bike tracks, a skate park just across the river, and a mountain bike park if that’s your style. You can also play golf or dine at the Anglesea Golf Club, which often has many kangaroos on the course.

You can catch a ‘Surf Coast’ wave at the patrolled surf beach, enjoy the gentler Point Roadknight beach or wade in the shallows around the river’s mouth. Anglesea is also a great base to explore the Great Ocean Road, the Great Ocean coastal walk or local towns like Aireys Inlet, Torquay and Lorne.
